Carlos I. Noriega

Noriega made two 6-month shipboard deployments in the West Pacific/Indian Ocean, including operations in support of the Multi-National Peacekeeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon.

In July 2004, Noriega was replaced by Piers Sellers on the crew of STS-121 due to a temporary medical condition.

When she was just 30, together with the Argentine photographer Sara Facio, she founded La Azotea, a publishing house in Buenos Aires devoted to the work of Latin American artists, including J.J. Yas, J.D. Noriega and Luis González Palma from Guatemala, Alejandro Witcomb and Marcos López from Argentina, and Martín Chambi from Peru.
