Spedding featured extensively on the album Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds issued in 1978, and much later was one of only two musicians from that album to tour with Jeff Wayne and the cast between 2006 and 2012, and then perform on the new album Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds – The New Generation.
