The Dutch requested shelter from Johor and arrived at Johor River on 19 August 1606.
It incorporates the second bridge of Kota Tinggi which crosses the Sungai Johor.
It is fed by several small rivers, which flow in long branches, and drained over the Layang River in the Johor River.
