Aart Hendrik Alblas, aka Klaas de Waard (Middelharnis, 20 September 1918 – Mauthausen, 7 September 1944), was a Dutch navy officer, resistance member and Engelandvaarder.
In 2005, she started working for VIVA, where she presented the show 17, now presenting the follow-up VIVA Live!, with her colleagues Gülcan Kamps, Collien Fernandes, and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.
The Nirvana song "Polly" off of their album Nevermind, has been erroneously attributed to the Klaas murder.

After Polly's death, Ryder starred in a film version of Little Women and dedicated it to Klaas's memory, since the novel had been Polly's favorite book.
