Sidimé served as President of the Supreme Court from 1992, and was appointed as Prime Minister by President Lansana Conte in March 1999, replacing Sidya Touré.
Beavogui succeeded Touré and acted as interim President until 3 April, when he was deposed in a military coup led by Lansana Conté and Diarra Traoré.
