During the course of his culinary work experience, Apuzzo has prepared culinary dishes for such notables as Queen Elizabeth, Princess Anne, President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, Senator Ted Kennedy, Clint Eastwood, Omar Sharif, Sophia Loren, Senator Jack Kemp, Lee Meriwether and Tommy Lasorda.

Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor, former Miss America and actress Lee Meriwether, United States Astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger, inspirational speaker Jill Kinmont, actress Shauna McLean Tompkins, florist to the Presidents Lynn Lary McLean, AIFD, and Senior Consultant/Constitutional Law of the Canadian Department of Justice Luanne Walton.
Negotiations with the producers of the program broke down and the role of Ruth Martin was recast with Lee Meriwether taking on the character in 1996.
In June 2000 Former Miss America Lee Meriwether starred with Bridget Hanley in the world premiere of Eugene Pack's "Elinor Adjusting" at Theatre West in L.A. The comedy ran for a four-week run at Theatre West where Hanley portrayed Elinor, a widow who finds herself without a home or a business after her husband dies.
