The orchestra, or rather a small ensemble of 28 musicians, performed the music from popular titles such as Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Legend of Mana, and Metal Gear Solid.

Although they are primarily known as a resource for the Final Fantasy series, there have also been Ultimania guides published for several other Square Enix titles, including the SaGa series, Legend of Mana, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story and the Kingdom Hearts series.
The story and art are done by Shiro Amano, who is also known for his manga adaptation of the Legend of Mana video game.
