Artists like The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd have made albums or tours carbon neutral, while Live Earth says that its seven concerts held on 7 July 2007 were the largest carbon neutral public event in history.
The organization originated from producers and directors of Live Aid, Farm Aid, Live 8 and Live Earth.

The group performed a purely percussive track written for the event by Roger Taylor with SOS in Morse code being the prime motif, and finishing with the drum solo from Queen's We Will Rock You to open the Live Earth show in London.
