In Lever Park, Rivington near Chorley, William Lever built a folly which is a scale replica of Liverpool Castle in ruins.

Thomas Steers

In 1725 he became a commissioner for the turnpike road from Prescot to Liverpool, and drew up plans for St George's Church on the site of the Liverpool Castle.


Hugh Molyneux, 7th Earl of Sefton

He was also a chairman of the stewards of the British Jockey Club and Constable of Lancaster Castle, his ancestors having held the Constableship of Liverpool Castle until it was destroyed c1700.
