Chipstead, Surrey

There are no bus services through the village, although route 166 run by Arriva London for London Buses passes the edge of the area to serve neighbouring Woodmansterne.

Dennis Lance

Of around 105 Dennis Lance SLF built, the majority had Wright Pathfinder bodywork, including 38 for London Buses (type LLW) for use on the first London routes to go low floor including London United Busways (now Transdev London) Hounslow route 120 and Centrewest (now First London) Uxbridge route 222, being 2 of 5 routes to introduce the type to the capital.

Fares Fair

The 1981 manifesto commitment was to subsidise fares on all London Buses, London Underground and British Rail services in Greater London.

Freedom Pass

The Freedom Pass is valid at all times on London Underground, London Overground, Bus, Tram, and Docklands Light Railway services in Greater London (until January 2009 the pass was only valid on weekdays from 9:00).

Hedingham Omnibuses

Two former Hedingham Omnibuses (Bristol VRTs RUA 461W, HJB 455W) masqueraded as London Buses in the 2009 Doctor Who Easter special, Planet of the Dead.

London Bus Museum

The museum is operated by the London Bus Preservation Trust and exhibits around thirty-five examples (from its forty+ collection) of London buses, coaches and ancillary vehicles covering 100 years of development of the bus in London including Victorian-era horse-buses, 1920s open-top buses, streamlined 1930s designs and through the Second World War to the mass-standardisation of the 1950s, the Routemasters of the 1960s and the rear-engined buses of the 1970s.
