Dinheirosaurus

Its remains were found in the upper section (Kimmeridgian) of the Late Jurassic strata of the Camadas de Alcobaça Formation located in central-western Portugal at Porto Dinheiro, Lourinhã.

Lourinhã Municipality

The name Lourinhã may be related to the origin of its feudal lord, since Jordan was from the Loire region in France.

Lourinhanosaurus

Its first remains were found at Peralta, near Lourinhã, Portugal in 1982, but were not described until 1998, by Portuguese paleontologist Octávio Mateus.

Lusitanisuchus

Several teeth referable to Lusitanisuchus were also found from Porto Dinheiro, Lourinhã in strata deposited during the Berriasian stage of the Early Cretaceous, extending the temporal range of this taxon by about 15 Ma.

The municipality covers an area of 141.55 km², bounded by in the northeast and east by Caldas da Rainha, in the south by Bombarral, in the southeast by Lourinhã, in the west by Peniche and fronting the Atlantic Ocean.
