Greaves joined Granada Television in Quay Street, Manchester in 1964 as a reporter and editor for the regional news magazine Scene at 6:30, working alongside the likes of Bill Grundy, Brian Trueman, Michael Parkinson and Mike Scott.
The album contains ten tracks, produced by Mike Scott and Philip Tennant, with musical contributions from Steve Wickham (fiddle), Richard Naiff (keyboards), Brady Blade (drums), Mark Smith (bass), Leo Abrahams (lead guitar), Jeremy Stacey (drums) plus long-time Waterboys alumni Roddy Lorimer (trumpet), Chris Bruce (lead guitar) and Thighpaulsandra (keyboards).
After a stint as musical director of a West End performance of The Rocky Horror Show, Wallinger joined a funk band dubbed "The Out", before signing on with Mike Scott's Waterboys in 1984 to record the album A Pagan Place.
Aside from McNabb, the only other musicians on the album were Waterboys Mike Scott and Anthony Thistlethwaite, and legendary bassist Danny Thompson.
