The full-length album, The Late Music, was born out of a small message hidden in the liner notes of The Olivia Tremor Control's Music from the Unrealized Film Script, Dusk at Cubist Castle, requesting that people submit recordings of dream descriptions to the band.
Recordings made in this studio include sessions for Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Olivia Tremor Control's Dusk at Cubist Castle and Black Foliage, The Minders' Hooray for Tuesday, The Apples in stereo's Fun Trick Noisemaker, Tone Soul Evolution, Her Wallpaper Reverie and The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone, as well as early singles for McIntyre's solo project Von Hemmling.
"The Giant Day", prelude to the Music from the Unrealized Film Script, Dusk at Cubist Castle, was recorded between 1994-1995 by Will Cullen Hart, Bill Doss, and John Fernandes on a 4-track.
