Falam Township is mountainous, running east-west from the foothills above the Neyinzaya and Myittha rivers to the high peaks of the Chin Hills in the Arakan Mountain Range and down to the border with Mizoram State, India.
Kale Township runs north–south along the Kale Valley in which lie the south flowing Neyinzaya River and the north flowing Myittha River which meet near the administrative seat of Kalemyo and flow east toward the Chindwin River.
Since 1998 Myaing Township has been served by the branch line of the Myanmar Railways, from Pakokku to Myaing to Kyaw and on to the Myittha River valley.
