Educated at Upper Canada College, from 1977 to 1980, he was Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Arts Centre.
In October 2009, he appeared as "Man in chair" in the National Arts Centre production of The Drowsy Chaperone in Ottawa.
Between 1971 and 1981, Jean Herbiet held the position of Artistic Director of the French Theatre at the National Arts Centre, where he opened a series of production programs, cultural exchanges and tours that brought shows overseas to and from Europe.

After earning an Honours degree in Drama at the University of Manchester, England, Maxwell accompanied her husband, Benedict Campbell, back to his native Canada, where she began to work as a director at the National Arts Centre.
In 2012, she performed a dual role as Cordelia and the Fool in an all-aboriginal production of William Shakespeare's King Lear at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, alongside a cast that also included August Schellenberg as Lear, Tantoo Cardinal as Regan, Billy Merasty as Gloucester and Craig Lauzon as Kent.
Previous internships have included: the Prime Minister's Office (which hosts one intern each semester), foreign embassies, offices of Members of Parliament and Senators, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mitel, World Vision, Make Poverty History, the National Arts Centre, RBC Capital Markets, the Ottawa Citizen newspaper, and a variety of others.
In the winter of 2005, she co-produced Cobalt Rouge with the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, the Biennale di Venezia and Théâtre de la Ville in Paris.
His daughter is National Arts Centre Orchestra cellist Amanda Forsyth.
Brott is Founding Music Director and Conductor Laureate of the New West Symphony in Los Angeles, the McGill Chamber Orchestra in Montreal and was Principal Youth & Family conductor with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, where he had guest conducted for 40 years and continues as such with an emphasis on family and education concerts.

In January 2006 Bhaneja debuted in Hamlet (solo), a one-man version of William Shakespeare's Hamlet directed by Robert Ross Parker, which has been performed across Canada including an engagement at The National Arts Centre in the fall of 2013, in the United Kingdom at The Assembly Rooms as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art as well as in New York City on a number of occasions, including Off Broadway.
Other productions include The Loveliest and Sylvia in Victoria, The Crucible and Blessings in Disguise in Manitoba, Oleanna at the National Arts Centre opposite Sandra Oh, and Love Letters opposite wife Martha Henry in an Ontario tour.
