It is a modern combat simulation and includes four campaigns, set in Death Valley, at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA, in a hypothetical World War III in the Fulda Gap, and in a hypothetical war in Iraq (the game was created before Operation Iraqi Freedom).
Since December 1995, the Division was thoroughly involved in the training, testing, and evaluation participating in the Division Capstone Exercise (DCX) I held at the National Training Center in the Fort Irwin Military Reservation, California in April 2001, and culminating in the DCX II held at Fort Hood, Texas, in October 2001.
In 1989, SilivaČ™'s training was hampered by the closure of the Deva National Training Center during the Romanian Revolution and further impeded by a knee injury.
After the National Council moved its headquarters in 1979 from New Brunswick, New Jersey to Irving, Texas, the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico became the new home of the National Training Center.
