The phenomenon is so named after the lead researchers from a joint team drawn from NASA Ames Research Center, the Field Artillery Training Center at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and instructors from the USAF Air Weapons School at Nellis AFB in response to a formal request for assistance from United States Central Command, MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida, framed following events during Operation Anaconda.
The airspace is primarily used by military aircraft from Nellis AFB, Edwards AFB, NAWS China Lake, and NAS Lemoore for high and low altitude mission training.
These pilots then were reassigned to the aggressor training units at Clark AB, Philippines, RAF Alconbury, England and Nellis AFB.
The company plays an active role in many of the World’s top air shows including Jones Beach New York Air Show, Flying Legends, Duxford England, Aviation Nation, Nellis AFB, Rhode Island Air National Guard, Wings Over Houston Air Show, Texas, Thunder Over the Boardwalk, Atlantic City, New Jersey by flying as The Horsemen Aerobatic Team and recording event footage It exists today as one of the only dedicated aviation production company that owns World War II combat planes used for filming.
