Banga was vice chairman of the board of trustees of the New York Hall of Science and a board member of the National Urban League.
From 1952 to 1967, an additional five organizations would begin to receive regular city support (Brooklyn Academy of Music, 1952; Queens Botanical Garden, 1962; New York Hall of Science, 1965; Wave Hill, 1965; Staten Island Historical Society, 1967).
