O. B. Brown's body was buried in the Congressional Cemetery; the remains were moved to Oak Hill Cemetery on November 10, 1868.
He died in Upatoi in Muscogee County, Georgia in 1865 while visiting relatives and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Talbotton.
He was reelected to the 70th and to the three succeeding Congresses, serving from August 18, 1925, until his death in Washington, D.C. He was interred in Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek.
