Dr. C. Balakrishnan returned from the UK in 1950 and he joined Government Medical College, Nagpur as a lecturer.

Balakrishnan (CBK) (1918-1997) was a famous plastic surgeon from India, who was a pioneer of modern plastic surgery in India, when he established second independent Department of Plastic Surgery in India, at the Medical College Hospital, Nagpur, in 1958.
Balakrishnan's son-in-law and Indian Youth Congress leader P. V. Srinijan, who did not have any land four years ago, is now the owner of property worth hundreds of thousands of crores rupees.
Ramakrishnan’s close association with literary and cultural luminaries, which included M. Govindan, Ayyappa Paniker, M. V. Devan, P. K. Balakrishnan, O. N. V. Kurup, Kavalam Narayana Panicker and K. V. Thampi, helped him in the endeavour to give a popular image to Malayalam poetry recital.
