Croatia–Hungary relations

Following the defeat of Austria-Hungary in World War I the Parliament of Croatia declared independence and decided to join the newly formed State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs, ending Habsburg rule and the personal union with Hungary (after 816 years) on 29 October 1918.

Croatian Institute for Health Insurance

In 1993, the HZZO was created by the Parliament of Croatia in order to consolidate the fragmented and decentralized health care system which had been inherited from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.


Eltz Manor
