unusual facts about Peppercorn

David Peppercorn

While Peppercorn's and Sutcliffe's concerns were never proven, and were disputed by Rodenstock, the current manager of Château Pétrus, Christian Moueix, confirmed that the estate has no records of producing imperials during those vintages.

Grosvenor Chapel

The foundation stone of the Grosvenor Chapel was laid on 7 April 1730 by Sir Richard Grosvenor, 4th Baronet, owner of the surrounding property, who had leased the site for 99 years at a peppercorn rent to a syndicate of four “undertakers” led by Benjamin Timbrell, a prosperous local builder.

Mernda railway station

All that can be seen of Mernda station now is the degraded platform, which is overgrown with exotic vegetation, including a Peppercorn tree.

The Tree Bar

The venue also plays host to an open-mic, formerly run by Joe Peppercorn of The Whiles and currently run by Shane Sweeney of Two Cow Garage.
