Arizona Green Party

Prominent Green candidates in Arizona have included Vance Hansen, who ran for the US Senate in 2000 and received 108,926 votes, Claudia Ellquist who ran for Pima County Attorney in 2004 on a platform largely focused on declaring a moratorium on the death penalty, and Dave Croteau who ran for mayor of Tucson in 2007 on a platform of relocalization and received over 28% of the vote.

Celtis reticulata

Celtis reticulata was one of the species analyzed in a pollen core samplng study in northern Arizona, in which the early to late Holocene flora association was reconstructed; this study in the Waterman Mountains-(Pima County-S.East AZ) demonstrated that C. reticulata was found to be present after the Wisconsinan glaciation, but is not a current taxon of this former Pinyon-juniper woodland area which is now in central and northern Arizona.

Jose Guerena shooting

Jose Guerena was a U.S. Marine veteran who served in the Iraq War and was killed in his Tucson, Arizona home, on May 5, 2011, by officers of the Pima County SWAT team, while they were executing a warrant to search his home in relation to an ongoing investigation into drug smuggling.

Monardella arizonica

The species has been confirmed to have been native to northern Arizona since at least the Late Wisconsin late glacial period based upon pollen core analysis at the Waterman Mountains (Coconino County) - (not the Waterman Mountains of Pima County); dominant trees of Juniperus osteosperma and Pinus monophylla remain extant species to the present time in this predominantly Pinyon-juniper woodland.

Paula Aboud

On January 3, 2006 she was appointed to the Arizona State Senate by the Pima County Board of Supervisors, following the resignation of Gabrielle Giffords, who stepped down to run for the United States House of Representatives.

Rufous-winged Sparrow

The Rufous-Winged Sparrow in Pima County: This species was discovered by Charles Emil Bendire in 1872, near old Fort Lowell, Tucson, where it was common.

San Luis Mountains

The San Luis Mountains are a small, lower elevation mountain range of central-southern Pima County Arizona adjacent the U.S.-Mexico border, northeast of Sasabe, Arizona–Sasabe, Sonora.

Sitona californicus

In California the species were recorded between March 5, 1925 and February 1, 1926 at Monterey County, Carmel while in Arizona it was found in Pima county, Santa Rita Mountains.
