He played in London with the band Souled Out producing the album Shine On, and later formed the band Planet Funk with whom he won a gold disc for the album Non Zero Sumness.
He has also been a guest vocalist for the Italian group Planet Funk.

After being signed to Warner Chappell, fellow producer and singer-songwriter Edwards went on to work with Ed Case, Planet Funk, Chicane, M Factor, Skin and Melanie Chisholm.
