He had his first drawing published in the story paper The Captain in 1900, and over the next ten years drew for story papers and comics including Marvel, Pluck, the Boy's Friend, Boy's Herald, Boy's Leader, Illustrated Chips, Comic Cuts, Jester, Big Budget, and Ally Sloper's Half Holiday.
Her fictional novels often follow the same formual as the Pollyanna or Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm series, in which a young girl, often an orphan, tries to improve the lives of adults through pluck and daring.
Black Mamba, former member of the Serpent Society, now a part of BAD Girls, Inc., has the ability to pluck the image of her victim's loved one and use darkforce to embody that person, eventually suffocating them.
The character of Froggy, together with his own catch phrase "Hiya Kids! Hiya! Hiya! Hiya!" and the associated command "Pluck your magic twanger, Froggy" (his signal to appear from a puff of smoke together with a twanging sound effect) are actually remnants from a much earlier children's television show Andy's Gang where an identical rubber frog toy made appearances as Froggy the Gremlin.
