Seven years before its debut season in the AFL as Port Power, the then SANFL club Port Adelaide applied to become the AFL's first South Australian club.

Ben Beams

Recruited from Glenorchy, Tasmania he made his AFL debut in Round 5 of the 1999 season against Port Adelaide, and played 11 games for 9 goals in his debut year.

Dustin Martin

He only missed one game in his debut season, winning a 2010 AFL Rising Star nomination for his performance against Port Adelaide in Round 10 and finishing the year ranked second at Richmond for clearances and inside 50s and third for contested possessions and disposals.
