The EBF Bridge over Powder River is a bridge located near Leiter, Wyoming, which carries Sheridan County Road CN3-269 over the Powder River.
Although ac traction motors are emerging for very heavy drag service, particularly in western North America, and its supply of Powder River Basin coal to other areas of the U.S., the simpler dc traction motor system remains the most popular, with Union Pacific alone having over 1,500 current model SD70Ms with dc traction motors (plus an additional 1,000 SD70MACs with ac traction motors).
During the summer of 1892, railroad crews working on the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad, built a bridge across the Powder River at Suggs, although the railroad had only reached Gillette at that point in time.
On November 25, 1876, part of Crook's command, under the leadership of Col. Ranald S. Mackenzie, attacked a village of Cheyenne ("Dull Knife's village") on the nearby Red Fork of the Powder River.
He was born in Powder River, Montana, and worked on Mount Rushmore, and later created the five dinosaurs in Dinosaur Park in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1934, his first large scale project.
