Colibris was the fifth professional club in the state of Morelos to play in the Primera División de México, Zacatepec been the first in 1948, followed by Marte, who moved from México City to Cuernavaca in 1953, Cuautla in 1955 and Oaxtepec in 1982.
The team was founded in 1980, Correcaminos played in the Primera Division De Mexico from the 1987–1988 season to the 1994–95 season.

Ezequiel Francisco Orozco Padilla (born November 23, 1988 in Los Mochis) is a Mexican professional football forward who currently plays for Necaxa in the Primera División de México.
He has two brothers and two half-brothers; the elder, Éder dos Santos, currently plays for Club América in the Primera División de Mexico as a defensive midfielder, and Giovani dos Santos, who plays for Villarreal CF in La Liga, as an attacking midfielder.

The city is home to the soccer team Club Necaxa, which currently plays in the Primera Division de Mexico after spending a year in the national's second tier known as Liga de ascenso (formerly Primera A).
