Police agents questioned by the Judiciary Committee of the Puerto Rico Senate concerning the investigation of the Cerro Maravilla murders case, revealed a cover-up by the Puerto Rico Police during the murder of Antonia Martínez Lagares, admitting that in order to cover up the case, a police officer who had nothing to do with the shooting was accused of it so he would be acquitted during the trial and put the matter to rest.

Both the Governor and the President of the Senate of Puerto Rico, Eduardo Bhatia, asked the Puerto Rico Joint Forces of Rapid Action (FURA) and the Puerto Rico Police to not intervene nor attempt to remove the protesters.
It also broadcast solidarity concerts from the Rio Piedras, Bayamón and Mayagüez campuses, as well as a "clandestine" acoustic program by members of the Puerto Rico reggae band Cultura Profética (which sneaked into campus at the moment where the Puerto Rico Police Department blockade was most stringent).
