Julphar (Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries) is a public shareholding pharmaceutical company based in Diqdaqah, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Although Ras Al Khaimah is a poorer sheikhdom in the north of the UAE, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi had instructed RAKIA to invest in Georgia a few years prior to his accession as ruler of Ras Al Khaimah in 2010.
The university was established by the Ras Al Khaimah Human Development Foundation (RAK – HDF) under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al Qasimi, Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Chancellor of the University.
RAK-HDF is a joint venture of the Ras al-Khaimah Government, Al Ghurair Investments and ETA Ascon Group, Dubai.
In 1989, he recruited the Swiss-Lebanese engineer Khater Massaad who developed comprehensive industrialization plans for Ras Al Khaimah, the most important being the establishment of RAK Ceramics.
In the years up to 2010, Ras Al Khaimah's economic policy was marked by expansion, notably in industry RAK Ceramics, real estate Al Hamra Fort Hotel & Beach Resort, and business services Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone.
