Alcove, New York

Alcove is a part of the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District (RCS) and the children attend Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School for kindergarten through fifth grade, and Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School for sixth through twelfth.


Coeymans, New York

The Powell & Minnock Brick Yard, just north of the Hamlet on Rt. 144, was used as the assembly site for a new swing span for the 145th Street Bridge in 2006.

Fullers, New York

In 1799 the Great Western Turnpike was built connecting Albany with the western frontier and in 1882 the West Shore Railroad would build its tracks crossing the turnpike on its way from Ravena and Voorheesville to Schenectady.

Isla de Mona

The lighthouse was, contrary to common opinion, not designed by famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel (who also designed the world famous Eiffel Tower in Paris), but the Spanish engineer Rafael Ravena in 1886.

In his final season with the Tiger Cubs, Ferrer was crowned the Junior's Most Valuable Player where he led the Tiger Cubs into the Finals where they faced off once again with Ravena and the Blue Eaglets who finished the elimination round undefeated at 14-0 with an automatic Finals berth and a 1-0 advantage in a virtual best-of-5 final series.

Ravena, New York

Best Yet Supermarket left in late 2005 and the store was remodeled and opened again in the spring of 2006 as Ravena Shop 'n Save (supplied by Hannaford).

In the late 2004 Grand Union left Faith Plaza and was replaced by a Best Yet Supermarket in 2004.

The plaza used to house a movieplex and arcade which were converted into a strip mall and an A&P.
