Bombones was born in Seville, (Spain), in early 2000s, where due to the love of the music that characterize both Juano and Goyo (working in a record store), they decided to join with Francis and Eduardo "Pollito" (former bass player) to play unusual power-pop covers, like Matthew Sweet, Velvet Crush or Redd Kross.
The band performed with contemporaries such as Sonic Youth, along with Nirvana, Jesus and Mary Chain, the Replacements, Smashing Pumpkins, the Gun Club, Leaving Trains and Redd Kross.
The band list their influences, both past and present, as Sweet, Redd Kross, The Go-Gos, X, The Clash, Joan Jett, The Bangles, The Runaways and Sonny and Cher.
As of 2010, Morris has been performing and touring with his latest project Off!, which he founded with Dimitri Coats from Burning Brides, Steven Shane McDonald from Redd Kross, and Mario Rubalcaba from Earthless/Rocket From The Crypt/Hot Snakes.
Often grouped with bands such as Redd Kross, The Pandoras as well as The Chesterfield Kings and The Fuzztones (representing the 1980s garage revival) Quercio's bands were more melodic and polished than their peers.
Felix also began the record label Smoke Seven Records and signed his band and many others who were ignored by the big labels then, such as Redd Kross, Bad Religion, JFA, Crank Shaft, Circle One, SIN 34, Youth Gone Mad, etc.
The band changed direction on their 1991 U.S breakthrough The Great White Wonder, eschewing the 'twee' British indie pop sound for a more American-styled power pop sound, akin to bands like Jellyfish and Redd Kross.
Another version of "Pink Piece of Peace" is on the first It's OK! album, featuring Redd Kross members Robert Hecker and Victor Indrizzo.
