Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool (1770 – 1828) British politician, longest-serving Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 1801 Union with Ireland
Louisa Harriet Cotes was the daughter of Charles Cecil Cope Jenkinson, 3rd Earl of Liverpool, and half brother of Robert Banks Jenkinson, the 2nd Earl of Liverpool, who was Prime Minister from 1812 to 1827.
The latter year Pitt made him Lord Privy Seal, a position he would hold under five prime Ministers (Pitt, Addington, Pitt again, Portland, Perceval and Liverpool) for the next 35 years, except between 1806 and 1807 when Lord Grenville was in office.
In January 1826 he was appointed Joint Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (alongside Lord Howard de Walden) by the Earl of Liverpool, a post he held until August of the same year.

His daughter Katherine married Sir Charles Jenkinson, 10th Baronet, a cousin of Lord Liverpool, the Prime Minister in 1812-27.
