In 1997, Pacific Media Corporation (which was principally controlled by Judge Robinson O. Everett of Wilmington, North Carolina) entered into a local management agreement (LMA) with a subsidiary of Lambert Broadcasting.
The station was originally owned by Wilmington Telecasters, a company owned by Robinson and Katherine Everett of Durham.

He entered the Confederate States Army as a sergeant in Captain Gartrell's company, Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest's escort squadron, and served until the close of the Civil War.
