Edward "Eddy" Stutterheim (11 August 1908, Amsterdam - April 13, 1977, Opio) was a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country as at the 1948 Summer Olympics in Torbay.
After spells at the Army Apprentices School, Harrogate, Yorks, and REME Boys’ School, Blackdown, Hants, he subsequently worked for W.H. Hewitt & Co., Hadfields Limited, Weaver to Wearer, Industrial Products (Refractories) Ltd, International Twist Drill Co, and Newton Chambers & Co, Thorncliffe, where he eventually joined the company’s Press Office, and worked with Alf Dow, a former Sheffield Telegraph & Star news editor.
He has written and produced music for other artists, including You're My Only Shinin' Star by Miho Nakayama, which reached #1 on the Oricon weekly charts and stayed there for 18 weeks.
Not a natural singer, Marvin nevertheless sang all of his songs in the film, rejecting the idea of miming to another singer's voice.
