1907 Kingston earthquake

After the earthquake tsunami were observed along much of the north coast of Jamaica at Hope Bay, Port Antonio, Orange Bay, Sheerness Bay, Saint Ann's Bay, Buff Bay, Port Maria and Annotto Bay; there were also some reports of waves along the south coast.

Saint Ann's Bay, Jamaica

Established by Juan de Esquivel, the first Spanish Governor of Jamaica, St Ann's Bay became the third capital established by Spain in the Americas.


Cathedral of Quito

Other notable Cathedral artworks include the Altarpiece (Retablo) of Santa Ana (comprising images of Saint Joaquín, Saint Joseph, and Saint Ann and dating to the 18th century); Bernardo Rodríguez’s Cure of the Lame by Saint Peter; the 1734 sculpture Inmaculada of Bernardo de Legarda (the replica of which watches over Quito from the top of El Panecillo); also, the Adoration of the Three Magi and the Cure of the Crippled (a mural).

Crescent Athletic Club House

Designed by prominent Brooklyn architect Frank Freeman and completed in 1906, the building is known today as The Bosworth Building of Saint Ann's School.

Dawson Street

Saint Ann's Church is found on the eastern side and the Mansion House near the south end.

Escape to Last Man Peak

Ewarton

Ewarton is on the A1 road (Kingston - Lucea), which climbs up from Spanish Town and Bog Walk in the south, enters the town from the south east, passes through the town's central square and continues north towards Moneague and Saint Ann's Bay.

Order of St. Anna

The statutes of the Order promulgated in 1735 established as the principal insignia a red-enameled gold cross, with an image of Saint Ann imposed upon the centre of the cross; the reverse bore the initials "A.I.P.F." (for "Anna Imperatoris Petri Filia": "Anna, Emperor Peter's daughter" in Latin).
