2007–08 Serie D

The nine division winners were automatically promoted to Serie C2 for the 2008-09 season, while the two last-placed teams were automatically relegated to Eccellenza.

A.C. Palazzolo

Between 1989 (when it acquired the sports title of G.S. Telgate of Telgate) and 1996 the club played a total of 4 seasons in Serie C1 and 3 in Serie C2.

Cuoiovaldarno R.F.C.

The club was founded in 2003 with the denomination of Cuoiopelli Cappiano Romaiano, as a merger between Cappiano Romaiano, a small team from Ponte a Cappiano, frazione of Fucecchio, who was just promoted to Serie C2 at the time, and Cuoio Pelli, a regionally more renowned Serie D team from Santa Croce sull'Arno.

History of Cosenza Calcio 1914

In 2007, Cosenza gave up its Serie D membership, but all the team players later joined new club Fortitudo Cosenza, born as relocation of Rende Calcio, a team from the neighbouring city of Rende which was relegated from Serie C2 in 2006-07 and moved to Cosenza soon after.

History of U.S. Puteolana

Under the management of Claudio Ranieri (his first managerial job) the club were relegated to Serie C2 the following year, however Brazilian manager Jarbas Faustinho Canè led them straight back up as champions.

U.S.D. Nuorese Calcio

Under Goveani, and under the captaincy of former Cagliari mainstay Gianluca Festa, Nuorese promptly won two promotions in a row, being crowned Eccellenza Sardinia champions in 2004–05 and Serie D – Girone B winners in 2005–06, thus returning to play in Serie C2 the following season.
