One of the most respected Argentine actors of the 20th century, Alcón received many recognitions for his work: he won, among other awards, the Silver Condor, the Martin Fierro Award and the 1981 Diamond Konex Award.
He experienced his first taste of mainstream success as the frontman for the chart-making early 1980s rock band, Silver Condor and has gone on to appear as the featured vocalist on numerous other artists' albums, one-off recordings, and commercials since then.
2006 marked his second Silver Condor nomination for playing the real-life Dirty War victim Guillermo Fernández in Chronicle of an Escape, which also marked his second collaboration with Caetano and co-starred name actors Rodrigo de la Serna and Pablo Echarri.
