In 2002 Sir Derek Bibby, 2nd baronet, and great-great-grandson of the founder and past chairman and president of the firm, was aged 80 and terminally ill with leukemia.
Campbell was the son of Major-General Charles William Campbell by Gwynedd, daughter of William Edward Brinckman and granddaughter of Sir Theodore Brinckman, 1st Baronet.
He represented Argentina in three first-class matches against Sir Theodore Brinckman's XI in 1937-38, but also played in non-first-class representational matches for Argentina from 1930 to 1959.
