The name change was a decision that came soon after his water baptism on August 14, 2011, in the Skagit River in Mount Vernon, Washington and was organized by Tierra Nueva.

The Skagit Bicycle Club is the 200-member cycling club of Skagit County, Washington, representing and training cyclists from Skagit sent to major national bike tours and races and encouraging cycling in the Skagit River community.

Vi was born to Charlie and Louise Anderson on July 24, 1918 near Lyman, Washington, on the Upper Skagit River.
