After finishing his playing career he became a successful manager who coached Dynamo Tbilisi, Spartak Ordzhonikidze, Dila Gori and Spartak Tbilisi.
He then joined Spartak Tbilisi, however, after he only had three appearances during the whole season, he joined Dynamo Leningrad in 1952.
