Upon his retirement, he took to farming on the Canadian side of the St. Clair River near Port Huron with the aid of a Canadian land grant.

Shoulder patches on both home and away uniforms will feature a cicular logo with the Blue Water Bridge, that spans the St. Clair River separating Port Huron, Michigan and Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.
The origin of the name has also been confused with that Patrick Sinclair, a British officer who purchased land on the St. Clair River at the outlet of the Pine River.
