Finally, the Government of India's States Reorganisation Act (1956) inaugurated a new state Kerala; incorporating Travancore-Cochin (excluding the four southern Taluks which were merged with Tamil Nadu), Malabar District, and the taluk of Kasargod, South Kanara.
On 1 November 1956 the States Reorganization act was enacted and Madhya Pradesh was constituted under S.9,Subsection(1) of Section 49 of States Reorganization Act.
With the reorganization of Indian States, the College first came to be affiliated to the University of Madras in 1957, then to Madurai Kamaraj University in 1966, and finally to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in 1990.
