Major Myer was appointed by the first military governor of Puerto Rico, Major General Nelson A. Miles.

In 1898, under orders from the Secretary of War, he disguised himself as an English sailor, communicated with General Máximo Gómez, and made a military reconnaissance of the island of Puerto Rico, thereby gaining the information upon which General Nelson A. Miles based the Puerto Rican Campaign.

Miles began his career at Leo Burnett & Co. in 1961 as a Media analyst, and progressed to the position of VP Account Supervisor.
It contains recordings from the October 4, 1981 concert in Tokyo, some of which had appeared on We Want Miles, including the original version of the track "Jean-Pierre", elsewhere edited by producer Teo Macero to remove the first twenty-five seconds of introduction, consisting primarily of a guitar riff and tumbling percussion sounds.
A majority of the surviving Nez Perce represented by Chief Joseph of the Wallowa band of Nez Perce, surrendered to Brigadier Generals Oliver Otis Howard and Nelson A. Miles.

Controversy prevails over the exact range of the shot; although Baker and Harrison set it at about one thousand yards, a post-battle survey by a team of US Army surveyors, under the command of Nelson A. Miles, measured the distance of the shot: 1,538 yards, or nine-tenths of a mile.
After working as a social worker counseling maximum-security inmates at the Kingston Penitentiary in Ontario, Miles turned his focus to management and leadership, receiving his Masters in Business Administration (1999) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

Steven H. David is the 106th Justice of the Supreme Court of Indiana.
He later held roles both as English department chair and director of the Center for International Studies.
His brothers (all deceased) were 13-Term New York Congressman James H. Scheuer, Walter Scheuer, an investor and film producer, and Richard Scheuer, a scholar and philanthropist.
Steven H. Scheuer labelled the film as a "clunky yarn", (Scheuer, 1990: 869), while Mick Martin and Marsha Porter awarded the film their "turkey" rating, and criticised it for its "turgid direction and contrived plot", (Martin and Porter, 1996: 887).
