Konstantinov represented Russia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed for the men's middle heavyweight category (94 kg), against several top-class weightlifters, including his teammate Khadzhimurat Akkayev, Kazakhstan's Ilya Ilin, and three-time Olympians Nizami Pashayev of Azerbaijan and Szymon Kołecki of Poland.
