Gabriel has appeared on the Broadway stage originating the role of "Rodriguez" in Take Me Out and opposite Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane and Brad Garrett in The Odd Couple.

In early 2002 he auditioned for and won the part of Rodriguez an immigrant baseball player who refuses to speak English to his teammates in Richard Greenbergs play Take Me Out.
Other productions include Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Passing Strange, Next to Normal, the 2009 revival of Hair, Take Me Out, Everyday Rapture", solo shows for Anna Deveare Smith, Eve Ensler, Eric Bogosian and John Leguizamo, concerts for Audra McDonald, Patti Lupone, Sandra Bernhard and The Magnetic Fields.
As an actor, his roles have included Pyrgopolynices in Miles Gloriosus, Jason in Take Me Out and Bertram in All's Well That Ends Well In late 2007, he delivered a critically acclaimed performance in the Vancouver production of Bent, a play about homosexuals in Germany under the Nazis.
