Chase Ranch

Manly Chase (b. 1842) started with a sheep ranch, by 1875 Chase started raising cattle with Texas Longhorns and Corriente cattle.

Frank Tripp

(Rex Linn, a Texas native later raised in Oklahoma, once missed a day's shooting of CSI: Miami to watch the Rose Bowl when the Texas Longhorns were playing).

John Churchill Chase

One of his notable projects was a series of cartoons featuring the Texas Longhorns' mascot "Bevo" for the University of Texas at Austin in the 1950s and 1960s.


1960 Bluebonnet Bowl

The competing teams were the Alabama Crimson Tide, representing the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and the Texas Longhorns, representing the Southwest Conference (SWC).

1965 Cotton Bowl Classic

The Razorbacks were selected as national champions by the Football Writers Association of America and the Helms Athletic Foundation as the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide lost their bowl game against the Texas Longhorns in the Orange Bowl.

2005 NCAA Division I-A football season

The BCS saw good fortune as two teams, the USC Trojans and the Texas Longhorns, went wire to wire as #1 and #2, respectively—the second year in a row that had happened—and finished as Division I-A's only undefeated teams after the regular season.

2013 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl

As a member of the Big 12 Conference, the team began conference play with a loss to the Texas Longhorns.

C. J. Henry

He was also heavily recruited as a point guard and committed to play for the Kansas Jayhawks team on May 19, 2005, choosing the Jayhawks over North Carolina and Texas.
