He was the member of several groups including: The Echoes, The Five Pennies (for whom he wrote a 1956 release, "Mr. Moon"), Hollyhocks (1957), and the Bubba Suggs Band (1957–1964).

In the early-mid 1960’s he recorded and performed with British Beat groups The MeddyEVILS, The Echoes (backing Dusty Springfield), and The Soul Agents (featuring Rod Stewart).
The Echoes went on to appear on many TV shows including “Frank's Place”, “Family Matters”, “Brooklyn Bridge”, “Murphy Brown” a stint as Tony Danza's high school singing group on "Who's The Boss" and recent appearances on “It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia” and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”.
