Kurus |
Like a true Kshatriya, the Kamboja prince had fought for the Kurus with dedication, valor, honor, loyalty, sacrifice and in full compliance of the war ethics.
The name Marakkalage derives from the type of craft Marakkar (Marakkalam in Tamil means Wooden Ship) used in trade and warfare by the rulers of the Kuru Mandala coast (the region of the Kurus) and Sri Lanka.
At some point during the reign of Pururavas-Aila (the first king mentioned in the line of lunar dynasty of Indian kings) Uttara Kuru and the Kurus of India could have belonged to the same Kuru Empire.
