In Search of The La's: A Secret Liverpool is a biography about The La's written by M.W. Macefield, published in 2003 by Helter Skelter Publishing.
Sutton joined The La's in August 1988 appearing in the music video for "There She Goes" and left in July 1989 after 11 months at the conclusion of the aborted Mike Hedges recording sessions for The La's.
BBC In Session is a compilation of four BBC sessions by The La's, containing the band's session appearances on radio shows hosted by Janice Long, Liz Kershaw, Bob Harris and Nicky Campbell.
The set was broadly praised for its selections, and for avoiding well known songs other than "There She Goes" by the La's.
After the show, the winner of the semi-final, "Lietuva" (Lithuania) by Deivis, was disqualified after it was revealed that the song was partly a plagiarism of the song "There She Goes" by The La's.
John Power from Cast and the La's fame co-wrote the final verse and vocal contributions were made by Phil Thompson and Bruce Grobbelaar amongst others.
In the first years, their sound had hints of 'Crosby, Stills and Nash', and The La's, as noted by Chris Helme formally of The Seahorses.
Their distinctive sound has been compared to many other, more recent bands from the north-west of England, including The La's, The Coral, Cast and The Zutons.
